Abstract:

FISH tank or swimming granuloma caused by Mycobacterium marinum is an opportunist pathogen commonly found in aquatic environments. We present a 16 year-old boy with frequent exposure to aquarium water who had several nodules (sprotrichoid forms) on his right hand.Pervious studies showed that FISH tank granuloma is a rare skin infection (0.27 per 100,000 population in one year). However, taking proper history and considering the patient’s signs and symptoms could be helpful in diagnosis and treatment.

Abstract:

FISH including; Barbus spp, Cyprinus carpio, Liza abu and Aspius vorax have very important role in the economic condition of the rural areas of Khuzestan province. These FISH have been consumed as fried or roasted. Inadequately cooked FISH, could be served as a source of infection in these communities. For this reasons, 701 FISH were trapped from 4 lagoons (Atash, Sobhanieh, Al-hai, Houfel) and transported alive to Ahwaz Health Research Center. Their skin, gills, eyes, muscles, intestine and body cavity were examined carefully. In 54 (7.7%) of FISH,. 6 cases of Contracaecum sp. (0.85%) and 48 Anisakis sp. (6.8%) were identified belong to helminth family of anisakidae. These results suggested that human anisakiasis could be health hazard in these areas.

Abstract:

Sperm sexing is one of the important ways for sex preselection of offspring that with artificial insemination has the potential to considerably improve animal breeding and the efficiency of dairy and meat production. The base of this method is discrepancies between X- and Y-chromosome bearing sperms. X- and Y-bearing sperm cells can be separated by methods such as flow-cytometric measurement of sperm DNA content. In this research, to validate the accuracy of sperm sexing, we aimed to develop a simple method based on FISH technique to enable us to differentiate between X- and Y-bearing sperms. In order to do that, we attempted to make a homemade FISH probe specific for pericentromeric repetitive DNA block on the bovine Y-chromosome (locus DYZI, Yp13-q12). For this purpose, Genomic DNA was extracted from lymphocyte cells of bull. The specific DYZI primers were used for the amplification of Y pericentromeric region. The PCR products were then labeled with biotin-16-dUTP in a secondary PCR reaction. The labeled PCR product was then purified and dissolved in a hybridization buffer and used as a FISH probe. The Y specific FISH probe hybridized on the male metaphase and interphone cells fixed with methanol: acetic acid on slide show strong signals. Totally, production of the first FISH probe in Iran for detection bovine Y-chromosome was a big success and can be used for future studies about sexing. Also the made FISH probe at this study and primers can be applied to determine sex and ploidy status in bovine cells such as individual blastomeres or cell lines.

Abstract:

Estuarine environments are one of the most dynamic aquatic ecosystems and serve manyimportant functions in coastal waters. Larval FISH dynamics contribute significantly to understandingthe ecology of FISH populations as they can indicate the spawning-stock biomass and recruitment inadult FISH stocks. Initial development stages of FISHes are particularly vulnerable and are influencedby physical and biological processes. Hence the present study was aimed to characterizeichthyoplankton assemblages, to evaluate environmental influence in its structure. Ponnanibackwater FISH larvae assemblages displayed a clear seasonal pattern presenting higher abundancesand diversities during warmer months. Throughout the year there is a wide fluctuation in salinity, temperature and primary productivity in these backwaters enabling it to be classified under stressfulenvironment for larval forms of certain economically important marine FISHes. A detailed analysismade to study the interaction of selected environmental parameters with ichthyofaunal diversity inPonnani backwater provided a clear understanding on the influence of these variables on thedistribution of marine FISH larvae in the region. The results of the present analysis provided a modelfor the prediction of larval diversity from the prevailing environmental parameters.

Abstract:

Background and Objectives: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the body composition in the muscles of four species of Caspian sea FISH in autumn and spring. Methods: Proximate composition including moisture, protein, fat, ash and carbohyrate were determined in four FISH species, Alburnus chalcoides (A. ch. ), Rutilus rutilus (R. r. ), Luciobarbus capito (L. c. ) and Alosa kessleri (A. k. ) from SOUTH Caspian Sea in autumn and spring. Findings: The obtained results indicated that carbohydrate and ash content were not significantly different among the four species in both seasons and also  between the two seasons (P<0. 05). Changes in moisture, fat and protein indicate that while there was a decline in moisture content, fat and protein content evidently increased in both seasons. In autumn, it is found that L. c. and R. r. had the highest moisture and lowest protein and fat content while significant declines in the moisture content of A. k. and A. ch. was observed which is in good agreement with the increase in both fat and protein contents of these two species in this season. Similar trend to autumn was observed in spring so that R. r. and L. c. with the highest amount of moisture had the lowest content of fat while A. k. and A. ch. with the lowest amount of moisture had the highest content of protein and fat. L. c., R. r., A. ch. and A. k. are classified as lean, low fat, medium fat and high fat FISH respectively based on the results. Results also showed that in most cases there was a significant difference among the moisture, protein and fat content of the four FISH species between the two seasons of autumn and spring (P<0. 05). Conclusion: Overall, the results showed that these four FISH species might be in spawning period and have developing eggs in spring and so that had more moisture and less fat and protein in their flesh  in this season.

Abstract:

Volatility and instability of FISHeries product price is one of the characters of inefficient marketing of these products. Therefore, in this study we will consider the effect of Prices Transmission on Marketing Margins of SOUTH water products during 2004 to 2014 with combining the Houck Methodology and marketing Cost model which is presented by Frigon et al (1999). The results show that perfect increase price transmission for ghobad, White halva, hamur, hoor, rashku, sangsar, shir, sorkhu and Black halva rejected. In addition, results show for white halva, hoor, sangsar and sorkhu short term and long term of symmetry price transmission rejected and intermediary earn profit with increasing marketing margins through asymmetry price transmission. The result of price transmission elasticity show that for hoor, white halva, sangsar and sorkhu Wholesale prices rise more strongly transmitted to the retail level while the decline in prices slow transferred to the higher levels of the market.

Abstract:

Introduction: Heavy metals as environment pollutant are potentially dangerous for living organisms. These metals cause interruption of enzyme activity and impaired synthesis of compounds that are essential for body, and can accumulate in aquatic bodies. The aim of this study was to determine lead, cadmium, nickel and zinc in canned FISH in SOUTH of Iran. Methods: In this descriptive and analytical study, sixteen different brands of canned tuna were collected during a two months period from April to May 2010 in SOUTH of Iran. Three cans from each brand were purchased and one sample was taken from each brand. Totally, 192 experiments were performs on samples. Sample preparation and the digestion rate of heavy metals including lead, cadmium, nickel and zinc was determined by flame atomic absorption value. Results were analyzed using descriptive statistics by SPSS Software. Results: Concentrations of lead, cadmium, nickel and zinc in collected canned tuna, were 0.2115±0.11, 0.3514±0.014, 0.4098±0.24 and 0.77±00.36 mg/g, respectively. Conclusion: Our results showed, that the average concentration of heavy metals was lower than those declared by FAO and WHO. Given the importance of heavy metals on human health, periodic monitoring of these metals is necessary.

Abstract:

The present study was carried out during 2006-2007 along the SOUTHern Caspian Sea. The species composition showed that the common kilka, Clupeonella cultriventris caspia, is dominant species with 89% and then anchovy, C. engrauliformis, has shown only 8.7% while it was already dominant species in the past decades. The overall results indicated that common kilka was replaced with anchovy kilka as previous dominant kilka species due to invasion of Mnemiopsis leidyi to the SOUTHern Caspian Sea. Anchovy suffered greatly from M. leidyi so that the total catch dropped from 95000 mt in 1999 to less than 20000 mt in 2007. In our survey, 1415 FISH specimens were collected randomly, including 221 anchovy, 281 bigeye and 913 common kilka. The mean length of anchovy was 117.8±0.27 mm, while it was about 93.0 mm during 1995 to 1998 before the invasion of M. leidyi. Analysis of age classes indicated the mean age of 4.5±0.04 years for anchovy, 3.6±0.03 for common kilka and 4.6±0.08 for big eye C. grimmi. According to the age and the length structure of the specimens in this study, it could be concluded that in recent years, young FISH population of anchovy has been decreased in comparison with the last decade. The results showed that some biological characteristics of kilka population were affected by M. leidyi. Recently FISHing activities take place in shallow waters where schools of kilka are in suitable density for FISHing. According to our results, ctenophore occupied the anchovy habitat where it was mainly more than 50 m depth. The FISHing has moved to areas with depths less than 50 meters where it was the main reason to change in species composition.
